Through the instrument sounds, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra concertmaster Frank Almond has a distinctive connection to one of the greatest violinists of Poland. This week the almond will perform in Poland in celebration of that connection.
Thanks to a long term loan from the owner of the violin, the Lipinski Stradivarius Almond play, built in 1715 in Cremona, Italy. Its previous owners include the Polish violinist Karol Lipinski (1790-1861), a recognized master whose name now thanks to university level Music Academy in Wrocław, Poland. As part of the commemoration of the school of 150°.
Residents and local Wheaton College students were treated to a special performance, webcast of the world, on Monday with the world-renowned violinist Yi Jia Susanne Hou accompanied by Chamber orchestra Camerata Chicago acclaimed globally, which is conducted by Maestro Drostan Hall of Wheaton. Hall also directs the school of Music Hall in Wheaton.
Hou, who is widely recognized as one of the greatest violinists of the 21st century, played an equally famous – a violin in Cremona circa 1735 loans extended by Clement and Karen Arrison through generous efforts.
Topanga Symphonys 29 winter concert presented the courageous public, who came to Topanga Community House in the rain and cold, with performances by intimate and cosy. There are different models, but that is about the average price for a new one. Is not a particularly good deal unless is the 200 series, and was established by a good luthier.
