Trail conference reaches double digit map edition - NorthJersey.com

The New York-New Jersey Trail Conference is set to reach a landmark milestone next month when it releases the 10th edition of its North Jersey Trails Map set. Still, according to conference representatives, the regional nonprofit is firmly focused on what lies ahead.

Dating back to 1974 when it was one map entitled "A Trail Map Wyanokie Area," the North Jersey Trails Map set in its new iteration includes more than 275 miles of marked trails in and around more than 16 parks in the region. The digitally-produced, waterproof, and tear-resistant Tyvek maps, which will hit stores in...

The trails master plan, which is due to include maps and descriptions of West Milford 's existing hiking, biking, equine, and aquatic trails as well as blueprints for their future development and interconnection, was the subject of a public forum last month.

McCusker soon will travel to Mozambique to help locals learn trail-building techniques at Gorongosa National Park for an east African trail system around Mount Gorongosa.

Walking the Western Greenway - The Patriot Ledger (blog)

I walked the six-mile trail recently with friends, twice, and each time was fun and different.

The Appalachian Mountain Club had a walk there last month.

So has Roger Wrubel, director of Mass  Audubon Habitat in Belmont. Wrubel and Friends of the Western Greenway worked hard to build, mark and maintain the trails over several year. Wrubel led a Habitat hike on the trail in October. Hopefully, he will do more.

There is a map   on the Waltham Land Trust web site,  or you can pick up brochures at the Habitat office. But having a guided tour with someone who really...
